Snap On Solus Pro Software Update

I just picked up a Snap on Solus (not the newer Solus Pro) to complement my VCDS. The VCDS does my VW/Audi cars and I need another scan tool to work on my 2007 Mazda3.

Snap On Solus Pro Software Update

I got software up to 2007 (v7.4 I think) so that I could work on the Mazda3, just to find out that it has all 2007 vehicles EXCEPT Madza and Toyota. Kinda bummed about that. Besides being an awesome scan tool, anyone have any thoughts? Used one before? Easy to upgrade?

Is there another way to upgrade without seeing the dealer? And lastly, are there other scan tools out there that are as comprehensive (i.e. The ability to scan ABS modules, airbags, etc) that can scan Asian cars? I've never been a fan of snap on scan tools, they generally think each one is the best invention since sliced bread. When i was going through school our rep always tried to push them on us, and when i was doing skills competitions that snap on sponsored we had to use the newest scanner each year. Benq Mx613st 3d Ready Dlp Projector Review. Some of them aren't bad as long as they have an oscilloscope function. And about it not being able to scan mazda, i'm not surprised, i'm a mazda tech and the only none OEM scan tool that works is mastertech.

I've used one for years now in the shop. Easy to upgrade but you must do it through a snap on dealer. Quite honestly, I hate it though. Entering the vin all the damn time if I have to do anything other than quickly read a code with generic obd II mode only to have it say P1597 unknown code so then I have to enter the VIN so it can look up in its memory for that car what the code means so I can dig in the right region to solve the issue. Mode 6 diagnostics on this machine are unhelpful unless you know what you're looking for, so if you're a beginner or are going wtf is mode 6 this probably isn't the machine for you.

Don't ever think this will replace your VCDS, it won't. Real Estate Finance Ebook Free. The diagnostic keys are annoying to change all the time in a professional atmosphere, and sometimes with some cars wont fit where the OBDII port is located. I can't tell you how many times i've cracked the keys trying to get the OBDII plug on a port of some imports and fords, its just too close to kick panels etc. Mazda millenia comes to mind.

Data is SLOW to read live unless you go into graphing format and use the zoom function. You can also go into the tools menu and edit the refresh rate but there is still a delay to some extent.

I apologize for this off topic question but i didn't think about the idea of getting an obd2 cable that will connect to my laptop. My air bag light in my mk3 gti is on.

I forgot to reconnect the airbag cable in the steering wheel once when i was doing some work on the car. It threw a code and i have never been able to clear it. The dealer wants $99 to run a diagnostic and more money to clear the code.

Will this cable allow me to clear that code myself? Where do i find the software or will what comes with it suffice?
